The Initiation

The Initiation

This painting speaks to the powerful initiation a woman undergoes during her first ovulation, when she releases her first egg and becomes the cauldron for new life. During our reproductive years, depending on the number of children we will bear, women will ovulate to 300 to 400 eggs which may potentially create a new human. With every monthly ‘spark’ in her body, she also keeps the ancestral connection with our ancestors alive and becomes the possible carrier of her bloodline. This painting proudly honors each women’s place in this miraculous dance we call life.
